This is hands down one of the easiest, most foolproof (and did I mention kid-friendly) recipes in my collection. Small cubes of strip loin are seared in a pan for a couple minutes on each side and then finished in a delicious and super simple garlic butter sauce. My kids gobble this up!

Here’s how I made it!

Get all of your ingredients together so you’re ready to go. This dish comes together quickly!

In a very hot pan, add your seasoned steak in a single layer and then don’t touch them for a couple minutes.

Flip and cook for a couple more minutes. Do NOT overcook, because they will be put back into the pan later.

Remove all the steak to a plate and set aside.

Turn the heat right down before adding your garlic and butter.

Scrape up the brown bits with a wooden spoon.

Add the steak and juices back into the pan and toss well for a minute or so.

Remove to a plate and serve immediately!

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs steak striploin cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes

  • 1 tsp kosher salt, to taste

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 6 tbsp butter cut into small pieces

  • 3 tbsp minced garlic cloves

  • EVOO

Directions:

  1. Heat a cast iron or a stainless steel pan over medium high heat until very hot, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add a couple tbsp EVOO into the pan, and place the cubes of steak down in a single layer, being careful not to crowd the pan.

  3. Cook (do not move the steak) for 2 minutes and then flip and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove to a plate and turn the heat down to medium low.

  4. Add in your butter and garlic and using a wooden spoon, gently scrape the bits as the butter melts, careful to not allow the garlic to burn.

  5. Add all the steak and pan juices back into the pan and give it a quick toss until well coated with the sauce.

  6. Serve immediately.
