Cast Iron Pizza
Here’s how I made it!
Recipe
Ingredients:
Pizza dough (homemade or storebought)
EVOO
Sauce, fresh mozzarella and toppings of choice
Directions:
Place a cast iron pan into the oven and turn the temperature right up to 500 degrees. You want the oven HOT.
Flour your work surface and roll your dough into a circle that will fit the cast iron.
Once preheated, very carefully remove the pan. Place it on the stove top, or on an oven safe surface. Drizzle with a couple tablespoons of EVOO.
Move the dough right into the pan. Spoon your sauce onto the pizza and spread it around, leaving a 1 inch border. Add the rest of your toppings, then brush the crust with a little more oil
Place it into the hot oven and bake for 10-11 minutes. If you are making a thin crust pizza, check it at the 7 or 8 minute mark.
Carefully transfer to a cutting board to cool slightly then slice and enjoy.
