Our Favorite Chili
Here’s how I made it!
Recipe
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef, turkey or whatever you like
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 bottle of passata, or 2 1/2 cups tomato sauce of choice
1 cup beef broth
2 cans of beans (I use one can of kidney beans, and one can of black beans), rinsed well
Directions:
Over medium heat, add a little oil and your ground meat of choice. Brown it well over medium heat then add in your seasonings.
Allow it to simmer for a few minutes, then add in your onion, garlic and tomato paste. Cook for another 5 minutes or so.
Add in your broth and tomatoes and bring up to a boil.
Add in your beans, lower your heat to medium and cover. Cook for about 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Serve hot with tortilla chips, sour cream, cheese, cilantro and/or hot sauce. I love making a batch of corn bread if time allows.
